Travel+Leisure magazine ranks Lunenburg as #6 of in its list of 16 beautiful coastal towns around the world. It’s so picture-perfect it’s often used as a film stand-in for traditional coastal New England.
Memoirs are a flexible medium. There is more than one way to tell your story, just as the old saying goes, ‘there are many ways to skin a cat’ – or, less violently, to peel an orange.
Make 2023 the year you find your creative voice and put pen to paper, the year you chose not to be intimidated and overcome your fears.
Memoirs can illuminate, inspire, educate, or simply provide an escape from our own lives by dipping into someone else’s extraordinary — or ordinary — life. Here are some great gift-giving ideas in the form of an eclectic selection of memoirs.
Writing prompts are useful tools, a nudge to help you get going. They are a word or phrase or image that introduces a topic and focuses your attention on that topic, encouraging you to write about it in a creative way.
There are so many ways to approach writing your memoir. Some can be a compilation of short stories exploring unlinked life events. Others can be the chronological journey through a life. They can be told with humour, or not.
It was with a heavy heart we decided to reschedule the launch of SPARKS FLY retreats until 2023. This year has proven to be too unpredictable, COVID-wise, with increased cases and the wide spread of new variants. It seemed prudent to reschedule since our retreats involved international travel and the possibility of quarantines.
Hester Schofield designed this program while teaching at Bournemouth University in the U.K., where she found herself dealing with frustrated students who told her, “But I’m not creative!” Hester believes that everyone is creative and that they can be taught how to tap into their individual innate creativity.
