See the World Through Your Own Unique Lens

SPARKS FLY Photography Workshop With Award-Winning Photographer Paul Teolis: May 20-25, 2024

How we see the world reflects everything that makes us a person. Everything we see and do, all our memories and all of our experiences contribute to forming our perspective. That perspective is expressed uniquely through our creativity, and our own unique lens on the world.

When you view a painting, read a book, or write down a memory, you see things influenced by your individuality. Five people looking at a photograph will each interpret that picture slightly differently. This is their distinctive personality shining through.

The same goes for everything we create. Our creativity is the means for our self-expression. It allows us to share our thoughts, emotions and experiences in our very own manner. Art, the written word, and photography are all mediums that allow for your individual creativity and your singular perspective on the world to emerge. We are all influenced by every life experience we have accumulated, every single day we are on the planet.

When you frame a photograph, what you notice through your lens may be very different from what the photographer next to you sees. You may focus on the sky, while someone else is looking at the tree, someone else is captivated by the bird and someone else is honing in on the Tim Horton’s coffee cup floating in the stream.

Award-winning photographer Paul Teolis‘s workshop will nurture your individual perspective, and allow you to expand your vision. Paul uses a fun and organic style to introduce you to broader ways of thinking visually with your camera. He personally guides each student in one-on-one sessions that will allow your unique vision to shine through in your photography.

Hosted by SPARKS FLY Creative Retreats from May 20 to May 25, 2024, the workshop will take place in the gorgeous UNESCO World Heritage Site of Lunenburg, Nova Scotia. Register here!
